Jora & Tanner may have known each other since grade school, but they didn’t start dating until much later after they were both out of college. Tanner was home one summer and kept running into Jora and had his eye on her, and they started dating long distance between Chicago and Des Moines. After a sweet wintery proposal complete with candles and Tanner finally popping the question, it was time to plan their wedding in Pella!
With their friends and family being of utmost importance to them, it was no question they were going to get married where they both grew up. Having the ability to spend time with the people they appreciate most and modeled who they are today – that was essential. Looking back on their day, it’s obvious that all the most important people played a HUGE part! From Tanner’s brother DJing an INCREDIBLE party, to the homemade decorations and family dance party – faith and family were woven around their wedding day at every turn.
Shelby & Jude celebrated their wedding day with a ceremony in Pella and their reception held at Tamory Hall, a new industrial chic venue right downtown. They first met at a music audition, and become friends…and eventually more! Since being together, the toughest thing they’ve had to endure is a long-distance relationship whil Jude has been in the marines, but they’ve made it through! Someday they hope to be back in Iowa long term so they can be closer to family, but for now, coming back to get married has been the highlight of the year!
