This is the last of the gorgeous fall weddings I had this year, and it did not disappoint! Anne & Nate were hoping for beautiful fall colors to incorporate into their wedding photos, andso they planned their wedding for the end of October. Granted, in previous years, it probably would have been mostly bare and not very colorful, but for some reason, this year was different and the leaves held onto their showy display a bit longer than normal. It was breathtaking!
One thing I absolutely love about the couples I’ve worked with this year, especially Anne & Nate, is how calm and relaxed they are on their wedding day. Maybe I’m just lucky to get to work with such easy going people! While both Anne & Nate were a bit nervous before they saw each other, I could tell that they both immediately relaxed and were themselves once they were together. When I was talking with Nate before their first look, it was so sweet of him to say that he was nervous, but that he felt like everything would be better as soon as he saw Anne. And he was totally right! It’s so cliched, but when a couple is just more themselves when the individuals are together, you know you have an amazing team and that they are totally meant for each other! It’s like all is right with the world 🙂
To Anne & Nate, thank you for a wonderful day and for allowing me to capture your beautiful memories! Congrats!
We started the day off in Newton at the Presbyterian church where Anne got ready. I LOVED all of her details!!!
I loved their classic wedding invitations with the plum lettering!
We headed over to the Newton Arboretum for bridal party photos, and a few more of just Anne & Nate.
The colors were just INSANE! So pretty for fall in Iowa!
Then it was time to head back to the church for the ceremony!
One thing I have LOVED about weddings I’ve photographed this year is that almost every couple has done some type of special exit. These are SO much fun to photograph because you just never know how it’s going to go!!!
A few sunset photos at Maytag Park with the bridal party and the happy couple 🙂
We just HAD to!
Anne & Nate had their reception at the DMACC conference center in Newton, and the team from ThistlesThistles in Pella did an amazing job with decor! They truly transformed this space into a beautiful reception!
I loved their simple and elegant cake decorated with lavendar!
They took dance lessons and totally wowed the crowd with their moves!
And then danced the night away…
Congrats to you both!
