Their wedding day had all of the usually trimmings – a stunning white gown that took the groom’s breath away, glittering jewel earrings, and of course an amazing celebration. Â This beautiful colorful spring wedding is a far cry from how Bry and Josh first met, though. Â With a puffy face and her food options limited to slushies and anything blended, their initial interactions came within days of Bry having her wisdom teeth removed. Â Apparently it was love at first sight, even with a swollen face! Â But obviously Josh looked past those first impressions, and their friendship built into a romance that went on for several years. Â Road trips, visits to Dairy Queen, and dreams of the future ahead of them brought them closer together with each passing day. Â Until finally, the long awaited proposal happened!
Everyone gathered for a private family-only ceremony at the ISU Alumni Center to celebrate Bry and Josh. Â It was beautiful, personal, and full of emotion. Â Bry shed a few tears when she read her hand written vows, and when the ceremony was complete, you could tell they were so incredibly excited. I Â love that moment! Â After their ceremony, we explored the campus for some private time for the couple and a few portraits. Â Spring came late to Iowa this year, so we were blessed with a few remaining blooming spring trees! Â Then we made our way to the newly-renovated Story County Community Building for a huge celebration with all of their friends. Â For them, it was perfect!
I hope you enjoy reliving Bry and Josh’s best day ever!
I adore Bry’s colorful spring bouquet from Chicken Shed Primitives!
Bry and Josh opted to not have a bridal party, so it was just Bry and her mom during their getting ready time. Â I think this was the quickest dress to put on that I’ve ever seen!
Bry & and her daddy getting a moment together. Â I’m fast becoming a fan of the daddy-daughter first look.
The small gated garden at the alumni center served as our ceremony site.
Having chosen not to see one another before the ceremony, this was a BIG moment for them!
Married!!!
Blessed with lots of time between their ceremony and reception, we took advantage of the beautiful scenery at ISU for portrait time. Â I am in LOVE with this one and secretly hope it ends up framed in their house!
I wish every bride chose a long veil – they are definitely my favorite!
Below left is another favorite of mine!
We always ALWAYS make sure we have a classic portrait of the couple smiling at the camera. Â Don’t these two look amazing!
Their reception was held in the recently renovated Story County 4H Building, which is located in Nevada, about a 15 min drive from Ames. Â When you hear the name, you don’t picture this beautiful barn, but it’s GORGEOUS!
Instead of cutting a cake, they cut a giant cinnamon bun baked by the bride!!!
Their vibrant colorful wildflower centerpieces were so refreshing to photograph! Â It’s been a while since I’ve seen so much color at one wedding, and I loved it!
Here come the newlyweds!
They treated their guests to a delicious dinner provided by Christiani’s, and topped off the night with a spread of desserts, including a s’more station!
And because there are too many beautiful photos of Josh and Bry, here’s a few more…
Congrats to both of you, and thank you for allowing me to be part of your day!
