It was rainy and dreary as we took photos outside, and Caitlyn looked over at me and said, “Well, at least three things haven’t gone as planned today.  That must mean we’ll have really good luck!”  After freezing rain, a broken bracelet, and a lost bridal bouquet, nothing could dampen her spirits on the day she would exchange vows with James.  As friends and family gathered at Sugar Grove Winery to celebrate their union, that spirit was shared amongst all.  From the beautiful toasts from their parents, to the exuberant dancing, it was truly a joyous occasion and more than a lucky day.
Many thanks to Caitlyn & James for trusting me and welcoming me on their wedding day. Â There were some bumps throughout the day, but at the end of the day, the most important thing happened – they were married. Â Much love!

An incredibly gray and cold fall day at Sugar Grove outside of Newton, Iowa where Caitlyn put the finishing touches on her make up.
One of my favorites…
Caitlyn & James were the only couple I worked with this year who didn’t do a first look.  Watching James as he saw his bride walk down the aisle was just like seeing a window into his heart.  He could barely contain himself!
By the time their ceremony was over, the rain had cleared. Â Nothing like a bubble exit to get the party started!
Sugar Grove is such an incredibly charming venue for a wedding. Â I loved this little outdoor area for guests to mingle during cocktail hour.
I work with the best couples – I love it when they greet and thank their guests at the reception.
I can’t help but giggle at these first dance photos – they were having SO much fun!
Best garter catch EVER!
And a little YMCA to end the night!
Congratulations you two!
