When blind dates work, they truly work! Thomas’s roommate and her Kelly’s old roommate got engaged, and while apparently there was a long chain of other people invloved in setting them up, they get all the credit for making it happen 🙂 It’s truly remarkable when I get to work with such a sweet and wonderful couple. Kelly and Thomas are so incredibly kind, caring, gracious, and laid back. Their wedding was filled with their closest friends and family, and sweet details that evoked their Christ-centered relationship. It was such an honor to be part of their day!
Their wedding was held at the Chateau at White Oak Vineyard just north of Ankeny. It’s a new venue for me, and I absolutely loved it! What a gorgeous place to get married. Everything was seamless and perfectly executed, from the amazing florals provided by Something Chic to the delicious food catered on site.
I absolutely love that Kelly chose ivory for her bridesmaids dresses – so classic!
The best first look 🙂
Thomas surprised Kelly with her wedding gift – a strand of pearls! They were perfect!
This was the year of purple weddings for me – I think I photographed at least four weddings with either purple dresses or flowers. I’m not complaining though, since it’s my favorite color!
These two little ones? So adorable!
The way that Kelly’s dad held on to her…so sweet.
After their ceremony, we took a few portraits of just the bride and groom before the reception really kicked off. One thing that every photographer loves is when a couple sets aside plenty of time for portraits. These are some of my favorites from the day!
Love!
The gorgeous set up inside awaits!
Kelly chose cakes from the Cheesecake Factory. A girl after my own heart!
Hey, when you two get engaged, you let me know okay?!?
We snuck away one last time for some sunset photos in the vineyard – love these!
Back inside for some fun with friends, and to close off the night, a sparkler exit!
And finally, my favorite from the day!
Congrats to you two! I loved every minute of it 🙂
