When I met Katie earlier this year at the Pella Wedding Extravaganza, I was delighted to hear about the country chic wedding she was planning. Lace, mason jars, and burlap? Yes, please! What’s great though, is even though that particular style of wedding is quite trendy, the more I have gotten to know Katie, and now Christian, the more I realize it is SO them. She grew up in a small town, and hopes to maybe be a Spanish teacher some day. He showed up to our engagement session sporting cowboy boots. They met and fell in love while at Central College, where they are going to be wed later this fall. I love that so many elements of who they are and their love story will be incorporated into their wedding day – a little bit country, a little bit sweet, and a little bit nostalgic, taking it back to where it all began! 🙂
For their engagement session, we embraced the country chic and cowboy boots, and I couldn’t have been happier with how all of these turned out. I’m proud of these!
We headed over to a new location after spending some time at the farm, and I was so excited to FINALLY get to use this awesome vintage truck for a session! I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity, and for Christian & Katie, it was perfect!
It was SUPER windy that day…
A friendly barn cat even made an appearance!
And gotta get some ring shots!
Finally, one of my favorites…
