Chloe & Kian wanted a downtown urban vibe for their engagement session, so heading to the East Village in downtown Des Moines was the perfect option. We started off at one of my favorite spots, the infamous ivy wall!
Street photography is so fun and fresh, and this location suited them perfectly.
Literally, I did not even pose them for this….they are just that easy going in front of the camera!
I told Kian that I knew he would look incredible during their session – this photo proves that this couple is model material for sure.
All of these spots were literally one block away from each other. I know some photographers struggle finding locations, but you just need to look a little and you’ll find there’s lots of potential!
We took a break for drinks at St. Kilda’s and while I don’t usually love doing photos in bars, and these aren’t perfectly in focus, I still love the vibe of these.
We caught the last bits of sunlight along the waterfront and near World Food Prize building (their original dream venue….but alas, it was booked!)
Give me all the natural laughter and moments of joy – any time!
Worlds apart, but together now – we had fun chatting about all of Kian’s travels (they helped remind me of my favorite restaurant in Budapest) and how these two met and became a couple.
Soooooo many good ones – we did all of these photos in less than 20 minutes, if you can believe it. Â It was gettin dark!
One of my favorite Des Moines engagement sessions! Â I cannot WAIT for their wedding next fall at Temple for Performing Arts.
