They’ve been in Grinnell for less than 5 months, and I can already tell they will become friends of ours. Â Actually, I’d say they already are! Â I always hesitate a bit when people ask if I do baby photos or families, just because many people have very specific ideas in mind with both of those categories of photography. Â But when Victoria and I got to chatting more about her girls (they have 4 – including a set of twins!) and her hopes for their photos, we were totally on the same page. Â I love when that happens!
Their twin girls were born in July, right before they moved cross country to start up a new job here in Grinnell, so they hadn’t had time for newborn photos. Â And frankly, with newborn twins and uprooting your family to live somewhere completely new, I can totally understand why! Â But Victoria really wanted some beautiful photos of the girls while they were still little babies, plus a new group family photo and some of the older girls too. Â We opted to do a full session for their family because….twins! Â And…a capricious 4 year old to boot. Â We both agreed it would be a successful photoshoot if we had at least ONE useable photo just because the odds were totally stacked against us.
Thankfully, everything went pretty well! Â We had a gorgeous late-fall day, and even though the twins were a bit upset at the beginning, we made it through! Â And I know have a HUGE amount of respect for parents of multiples. Â I bow to you!
I love the bond that sisters have, and these two are about the same age difference as my sister and I.  They get along sometimes, and probably argue tons too.  But someday, they will be best friends 🙂
To be young and carefree and…4!
Felicity is so sweet, and I love that I was able to capture a genuine smile from her. Â It wasn’t easy!
Big sister duties taken quite seriously 🙂
Every mom I know loves having photos of them with their babies, and it’s usually my favorite thing to capture during family sessions.
Baby toes! Â One of my favorites.
And because I’m sure it’s been a while since these two had a portrait of them (almost everyone says the last time was their wedding day!) I couldn’t resist.
Love this family – can’t wait to hang out with you guys more!
