It was such a pleasure to work with Hannah on her senior portraits this past fall. Â She came from Sigourney for her session, and I really enjoyed getting to show off some of her passions – including FFA and just the beautiful outdoors!
One thing that I really loved about getting to know Hannah (and her fabulous mom) was that she really wanted to make sure her photos reflected her personality and style and weren’t too “much.” Â I often have senior girls who are super excited about looking and feeling amazing for their senior photos, but are concerned that with professional hair and makeup, they won’t look like themselves. Â This is SO important to me, because I always want seniors to feel confident and like their portraits are THEM! Â Hannah is a lot like me – I don’t wear make up most days, but I like to look and feel nice, especially if I’m going to have my photo taken! Â So IÂ totally understood her concerns! Â I always make sure that before we leave the salon that every senior is 100% happy with how they look! Â In the end, I think Hannah ended up with a perfect balance of country and couture – polished and pretty, and not overly made-up, which is exactly what she was hoping for!
We started with a few portraits downtown Grinnell, which is usually what I do first for every session.
Hannah said she wasn’t sure she could do the “serious” face. Â I think she can!
We headed to the fairgrounds for a few photos to feature her FFA shirts and jacket.  It was a spur of the moment idea, and I loved it there because the light was so beautiful, and her hair looked great in the slightest breeze 🙂
Next, we headed to one of my favorite places for natural portraits – Krumm Nature Preserve. Â There’s a few spots here that are my favorite when the light is just right!
And for something REALLY different – a little added magic 🙂
She could model, right?
Hannah’s mom asked for a photo that featured her tattoo – this ended up being a favorite!
One of my favorites!
Hannah, thanks again for a WONDERFUL session! Â I hope you’re having an amazing senior year!
