When Rachel & Sydney contacted me about their wedding in Lousiana, I was SO excited! Having been to New Orleans last year, the prospect of returning had me filled with glee. New Orleans is gorgeous, and photographing a wedding there would be a dream. Plus, southern weddings are filled with so much charm and tradition that we don’t seem to see quite as much in the midwest. Unfortunately though, Rachel already had a wedding photographer. Bummer! Instead, she was looking for someone for her engagement photos and bridal session. Sounds perfect to me!
I met up with her and Sydney back in September at Jasper Winery, where they got engaged earlier this year. Many thanks to Katie for opening things up a bit early for us on a Saturday morning!
We then headed into Des Moines to the World Food Prize building for a few more photos. I love how these turned out! Even though it was SUPER bright and sunny, we found a tiny little corner with some good light. 🙂
Just as we were headed back to our cars, I spotted this hill, and these stairs. Sort of a different perspective and a little bit more fun, but I love them! Big blue sky, and little people 🙂 Gotta love it!
