Kelly & Joel’s wedding was my first time photographing at Bash, a unique venue in downtown Des Moines right across from the sculpture garden.  The space has an industrial vibe, the most incredible food, and awesome rooftop views of the city!  So when Kelly and Joel contacted me late in the fall to photograph their Thanksgiving weekend wedding, and I happened to have their date open, I was SO excited!

We gathered for the beginning of their day at Lutheran Church of Hope in Waukee. I love the classic navy and blue colors Kelly chose!

This also happened to be my first time using my new Nikon D5 for a wedding and I fell in love with it!  The color quality and focus is perfection!

It was late November and while the weather was really nice outside, Kelly and Joel chose to have their first look inside their church.

I love the two levels at Bash with the mezzanine – it makes for fun photos!

We headed outside for a few quick bridal party photos and couples photos in the sculpture garden.  It was unseasonably warm this day so we weren’t freezing, which was wonderful!
