After considering rescheduling their wedding entirely due to COVID, Mary Kate and Nate opted to have an intimate wedding in their parent’s beautiful backyard here in Iowa. Â Instead of a large wedding, they opted to gather just with their friends and immediate family. Â They held their wedding ceremony at the church Mary Kate’s parents were married at many years ago.
One of the things we love most about their day was the personal touches.  Their custom vow books are such a wonderful keepsake and I’m sure will be treasured for many years!  Mary Kate involved family members in the decorating as well, including the absolutely stunning florals.  So many beautiful colors – we adore this color palette!  I’m a huge fan of ranunculus, peonies, and dahlias, and Mary Kate’s incredible bouquet included all of these and quite a bit more!  The entire reception set up was so perfect.
But the best part of the day will definitely be the celebration with family after the ceremony. Â Heartfelt toasts followed a lobster broil prepared by Mary Kate’s dad, and sunset photos on their families land wrapped up the evening. Â Nate led Mary Kate onto the courtyard for a final dance under the stars. Â It was truly a magical day.
We hope you’ll enjoy some of our favorites from their wedding, which was photographed by Beth – we are in love!
The perfect cake from Tip Top Cakes.
The perfect farmhouse table with colorful floral centerpieces.
We could go on and on with how beautiful these floral arrangements are!
The delicate lace detail on this dress was so pretty!
Following their ceremony, some of their original guests surprised them outside of the church with a heartfelt congratulations, complete with signs and a toast! Â So even though they couldn’t exchange hugs, they could celebrate and commemorate this day with their friends – it was so sweet!
