As a wedding photographer, I get to photograph you on the most important day of your life! And it's often a day you've been dreaming about for years! It's always an honor when a couple chooses me for such a momentous occasion, and I'm grateful for each couple I get to work with. As an artist, travel lover, and creative, there are also certain specific locations that I have been dreaming of photographing! And so, I created what I am calling the Wedding Bucket List!
There are so many reasons each of these places are on my list! Some destinations are locations where I have personal or family connections, and others are places I've always dreamed of visiting! But at the end of the day, YOU could make MY DREAMS come true if you chose me to photograph your wedding if it's on my bucket list! If you're getting married at one of these fabulous destinations, I will offer you amazing wedding photography at a fraction of the price of my standard coverage, which could be a potential savings of $4000!
So if you're having a wedding that falls under one of these destinations or categories, let me know!

I only book 12-15 weddings per year in order to give my clients the BEST possible experience. Most brides contact me 6-18 months (or more!) in advance of their wedding to reserve there date. I love out of season weddings too!
Yes, absolutely! About 75% of the weddings I photograph are in the major metro areas of Iowa, and I am conveniently located about 45 min – 1 hr from those cities. Travel within 70 miles of 50112 is included on your wedding day. This includes cities such as Des Moines, Iowa City, Pella, Indianola, West Des Moines, Ankeny, Ames, Marshalltown, and many places in between! I also include travel within 30 miles of 55391 (Minnetonka, MN). Anything beyond 2-3 hours may require accommodations. More often then not, the additional fees plus my package rate end up being less than most other photographers in your area! For your engagement session, 30 miles of travel is included.
I LOVE to travel and am available for weddings worldwide! I've photographed weddings across the United States (Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Massachusets, Maine) and I've photographed some amazing locations abroad for engagements, elopements, and weddings (Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Budapest). My passport is up to date and I'm ready to take-off! Make sure you check out my bucket list to see if your destination is listed! For most destination weddings, packages are customized to suit the couple. Destination weddings include my standard package rate plus any additional travel and accomodations.
I’ve been photographing weddings since 2007.
Because I just love LOVE! Weddings are such a fun and exciting day, full of emotions, beauty, joy, and amazing details. I get to photograph the most important day (so far!) of your life, and it is an honor to be entrusted with that job. I greatly enjoy getting to know the couples I work with and celebrating their big day. When I write on my blog about how much fun I have at each wedding and how much I enjoy each couple I really do mean it! I’m blessed to be a wedding photographer and couldn’t dream of anything better.
I’m always willing to create custom packages for couples if that better suits your needs. I’ve worked with a lot of couples over the years, so I have a pretty good idea of what works best, but if you need to switch things up, let me know. Based on my experience, most single venue weddings (where the ceremony and reception are taking place at the same location and no travel is required, ie. a vineyard, hotel, golf course, etc) and/or Protestant weddings require 8 hours of photographic coverage. This is my most common length of photographic coverage. Most Catholic weddings that include Mass and/or require more than 30 mins of travel time between locations usually need 9 hours of photographic coverage. I also highly highly recommend engagement sessions whenever possible. It is the number one way to guarantee you will LOVE your wedding photos. I promise it's worth it!
Besides planning for your engagement session and wedding day, you may hear from me once or twice to check in. You’ll receive a questionnaire a few months before your wedding that will go over details for your day to help plan out a timeline for photos (I have suggestions for this too!) and I usually check in with a phone call or email (depending on your preference) in the few weeks leading up to your wedding.
Absolutely, and I can provide proof of insurance should your venue require it.
I usually share one of my favorites on my blog and Facebook within a few days of your wedding, so be on the lookout! You’ll see the rest of the photos within 4-6 weeks!
The quantity of photos varies for every wedding based on the length of the day, how many formal photos we take, details included, etc. In general though, you can expect A LOT – usually at least 400, but sometimes quite a bit more! I typically deliver 75 images per hour of wedding coverage.
There are two options – you can come visit me in the studio to place an album or print order, or we can do it online. Whichever is easier for you! Family and friends can order directly from your online gallery.
Prints and gallery wraps are ready within 2 weeks. Books, albums, cards and anything requiring design are ready within 6 weeks after design is finalized. Organic Bloom frames are ready in 4-5 weeks. All other frames are ready within 2-3 weeks. If you need a rush order, please contact me for pricing.
When you purchase digital files, you will receive a print release, plus printing recommendations. You may print to your hearts content! Digital files are for personal use only; you may not use them for print competitions or for profit. If you post photos online, I ask that you please give me credit whenever possible. Digital files are high resolution files.
