There are some engagement sessions that are beautiful, and then there are the ones that become part of your story forever.
This was one of those sessions. When this couple reached out to me, they shared that they had been together for 10 years. Over the last decade, they had built a life together, traveled together, and created memories in places that meant something to them. One of those places was Paris.
So when they got engaged, they decided they didn’t want just any engagement photos. They wanted their session to feel meaningful and personal. They wanted to celebrate this season of life in Paris – a place that already held memories for them.
As someone who has been to Paris five times and even lived there during college, the answer was an easy yes!

A beautiful day in Paris
We wandered through some of the most iconic locations in the city, but the moments in between were just as meaningful.
We started at the Eiffel Tower, in the morning while the city was still quiet, because no engagement session in Paris feels complete without it. We walked to a quiet street with a great overlook of the Eiffel Tower and then continued on to the very popular Trocadero.

From there, we explored the streets of Paris together, stopping along the Seine and taking in the beauty of the city as we went.

Of course, we made our way to Louvre Museum. Early in the morning before the visitors arrive is the best time for photos at the Louvre. The soft light and beautiful architecture created the perfect atmosphere for romantic, timeless images. Billie let me know ahead of time that the architecture of Paris is the thing she loves most, and while the iconic pyramid entrance at the Louvre is very well known, we opted to focus on more of the original museum.

One of my favorite locations from the session was Pont Alexandre III. The ornate gold details, historic architecture, and view of the Eiffel Tower make it one of the most beautiful spots in Paris for engagement photos. Initially, Billie & Tim were considering a destination wedding in France, but staying close to home where it was easier for friends and family to attend became a higher priority. So when Billie asked if they could still take a few “wedding” photos while in Paris to mark the 10th anniversary and still have that experience, it completely made sense – I loved the idea! The stunning Petite Palais and Pont Alexandre were the ideal setting for these photos.

Petite Palais is also home to a beautiful small art exhibit and one of my favorite cafes in Paris – stop by for a treat!
During our time in Paris, some of my favorite moments happened on the side streets, a café, and quaint locations throughout the city. Those unplanned moments are often the ones couples treasure most! We stopped by Luxembourg Gardens and saw children sailing boats on the fountains, and enjoyed a late afternoon stop at a cafe for snacks and drinks.

Your engagement photos become more than beautiful images. They become part of your memories together.
There’s something incredibly meaningful about choosing a location that reflects your relationship!
Whether it’s Paris, the mountains, the beach, or a city you both love, destination engagement sessions allow your photos to feel deeply personal and completely unique to you.
As a destination wedding and engagement photographer, I love helping couples create an experience around their session instead of simply showing up for photos.
One of my favorite things about destination engagement sessions is that they naturally slow everything down. Instead of rushing through poses and locations, the experience becomes part of the story. You walk through the city together, stop at little cafés, laugh between locations, and simply enjoy being together. I learned so much about Billie & Tim, and going into their wedding day, I know we will feel 100% at ease and it will be like gathering with old friends.

The best images happen when you feel relaxed, connected, and fully present with each other.
And that’s exactly what this session felt like.
If you’ve ever dreamed about engagement photos in Paris or another meaningful destination, I always recommend choosing a location that means something to you. The best destination engagement sessions are rooted in connection and memories. For Billie & Tim, it’s a place they’ve visited many times and they have many special memories there.
As an experienced photographer that is familiar with the city, comfortable traveling, and offers guidance for planning wardrobe and locations – that all made the experience even better for them!

You don’t have to limit your engagement photos to somewhere local.
Your love story deserves to be documented in a way that feels true to you.
