If you’re friends with me on Facebook, you may have already heard, but I’m excited to announce that I am expecting my first baby, due to arrive in January! I’m thrilled for this new addition to our family (our first!) and can’t wait!!! Yes, we’re going to find out if it’s a boy or girl, though I’m undecided on whether or not we’ll publicize that. I’m still on the fence 🙂 No, I won’t be gushing on here or on my Facebook business page all of the time about pregnancy related things, but I may share something from time to time. I guess we’ll just have to see what strikes my fancy!
You may be wondering, what does this mean for your photography business and shooting schedule? Well, thus far, I’ve had a really smooth pregnancy and have been able to continue to shoot and meet with clients. It’s been great! I will continue to shoot through the fall season, and begin to taper the number of sessions I take on starting November 1st. I will only take on one or two early December sessions, both to finish before the holidays, and to give me some time to prepare for our little one’s arrival. Come January, I will be taking maternity leave for some time, and only be taking on a limited number of shoots before April 1st. But I fully expect to be shooting again for the class of 2014 and summer 2013 weddings!
For weddings scheduled for this fall, I have already contacted several wonderful photographers to work with me as a second shooter, and this is just a great bonus for you and won’t cost you an extra penny at all. I’ve photographed multiple weddings already during my pregnancy, so I’m fully confident that I will be able to continue to do so this fall!
