Sun Valley Barn Wedding Styled Shoot

Earlier last year, the owner of a brand new wedding venue called Sun Valley Barn contacted me to work with them on some promotional photos for their new space, a gorgeous reception venue in Pella. I was so honored when Angie reached out to me, and creating this incredible vision to showcase their space was a team effort full of lots of love.

I’ve put together many styled shoots, worked with stylists and planners, but this is one vision I mostly came up with on my own, with the help and assistance from several key extraordinary people. Weddings take a lot of moving parts to coordinate, and a large-scale styled shoot is really no different, so I knew early on I would want the help of a professional planner, so I enlisted my friend Emily McMahon from Soireé to help pull together the key pieces and take care of our rentals. She was crucial in bring the vision to life! We worked with many other talented vendors, including Shelly Sarver Designs, Unique Events, Pella Rental, Allegra, and Leah Rose Productions. When it all came together, it was stunning and just as we had imagined!

Our style inspiration came from the unique floral pieces. I knew early on, I didn’t want the standard tall floral arrangements, but something slightly whimsical. When I shared this idea with Shelly, she instantly knew exactly what I meant, and her artistic eye brought this shoot to life! I love love LOVE everything she did with the floral arrangements. The draping of the space was my idea, and I know Angie wasn’t sure at first, but I’m pretty sure it’s now become a permanent option at Sun Valley for all future brides – it just adds SO MUCH to the space!

I am in awe of the entire team of contractors and how they built this beautiful venue. I know that Sun Valley Barn will be such a great addition to Pella for future wedding receptions and ceremonies!

The harvest table was rented from Pella Rental, and the Louis style chairs are from Unique Events, as are the linens. All florals are from Shelly Sarver Designs.
