Tara & Bryan got married in Washington, Iowa – a small town south of Iowa City – on probably the steamiest day of June.  It’s been a hot summer so far, so I was a bit concerned when the forecast for their day was 98 degrees with some serious humidity.  When Tara and I talked earlier in the week, she was totally relaxed and fine about alternate options to make sure everyone stayed cool.  She even scoped out locations that might work for photos and sent me videos and texts!  Tara was always so great about filling me on on all the details of her day during the months leading up to their wedding, so I wasn’t the least bit surprised that she was on top of things 🙂  When the time came, we did manage to spend a little bit of time outside for portraits, and it really wasn’t that bad!  We found a little corner of shade and made it work 🙂  In the end, it was the perfect day and nobody complained one bit.  I’m so glad that Tara & Bryan just went for it, and that their bridal party was gracious and willing to endure the heat.  I think it was totally worth it!
We started off the day with the BEST sparkly bridesmaid dresses!
IÂ loved Tara’s backless dress – so unique
We did their first look in the church – my new favorite ceremony venue! Â The light in there was gorgeous!
This tiny shaded spot was right outside the church next to a parking lot and some random person’s home – lol! Â Why do I share this? Â Because sometimes you just need good light, and you can make it work! Â All of these next photos were taken within 10 feet of where we started.
Tara and her sister 🙂
These navy blue sequin bridesmaids dresses combined with those blush and ivory flowers? Â Perfection!
The whole gang!
Love this shot my second shooter, Teri, grabbed!
I don’t often pose bridal parties inside, but we had a little extra time and I wanted to try something different :
Bryan went and joined the processional – loved that!
While the bridal party went for a little bar-hopping…
I grabbed some reception photos!
LOVE this cake topper!
We snuck out for a few sunset photos at around 8 pm and got some of the best light of the day!
Congrats you two! Â It was a wonderful and perfect day in every way!
