It goes without saying, but your wedding day is one of the most joyful days of your entire lives. Not only do you get to marry your best friend and commit to forever with your person, but it’s also a day to enjoy being supported by your closest friends in your bridal party. You spend the majority of the day with them as you get ready and walk through the day alongside them. You will feel supported, cared for, loved, and encouraged by the people that you choose to stand next to you as you enter into the next chapter of your life! The people that you and your spouse choose to stand next to you are going to be some of the most important people in your lives. They’ve obviously played a huge role in your lives up to this point, and now they are going to be etched into the memory of this monumental day.
I say all of this to say two things. First, be mindful of the people that you select for this important role! If you can, choose the friends who have walked with you through different seasons and the highs and lows of life. Sometimes it can feel “easier” to choose the people that are closest to you in this season, and that can be uniquely joyful as well! The thing to consider is that if these friends are just in your life for a season, it might be hard to look back on your wedding photos and realize that these people aren’t in your life anymore. However, the positive spin on this is that it allows for your wedding day to be a snapshot of your life at that moment. But if you’re wanting to select your friends that you can confidently say that they’re going to walk with you and your future spouse for many years, I would recommend being selective and choosing the friendships that have already stood the test of time!
Additionally, it’s important to keep in mind that it’s an honor for people to be a part of your wedding day, but I also think it’s important that you honor them as well! You know that they would never complain about this, but bridal parties often spend a lot of money to be a part of a wedding. They take off work for bachelorette/bachelor parties and rehearsal dinners, they get you gifts for the parties and showers, and they spend a lot of time supporting you in a really sweet season! Because of this, I think it’s one of the most fun things to be able to get them a bridal party gift. There are a lot of different options/ideas for this and a lot of different times that you can give it to them. Below is a list of some ideas for things that you could get your bridesmaids or groomsmen to say thank you for being a part of your life and this big event!
