You may have read about it on Instagram or my personal Facebook, and I’m super excited to share it here as well! Â Big news for JWP – we are GROWING!!! And…..we are MOVING!!! Â
This year has been an AMAZING year for me and has far surpassed my expectations. I’ve worked with so many wonderful families and couples to capture and preserve their memories, and I’ve been so blessed with every connection I’ve made! Â So really, I owe a HUGE thanks to all of my amazing clients! You really are the BEST!
All of these amazing connections has meant I’ve been SUPER busy. Â I’m sure many have noticed that I’ve been swamped this fall season, and the busy-ness won’t slow down a bit until probably February. Â And even then, I’ll be busy doing lots of consultations with couples and photographing newborns! Â To help with all of the behind the scenes aspects of JWP so that I’m freed up to do what I do best, I’m bringing on an office assistant to help manage everything. Â And I could not be more excited about this! Â It’s been a huge answer to prayer for me as I’ve been juggling a LOT! Â I’ll be sure to do an introductory blog post so you all can meet her (she’s great!) and explain more about her role in JWP, but it will mostly involve things behind the scenes like taking care of product orders, managing my website and marketing, some FAQs and email related tasks, some editing, scheduling and timelines, things of that sort. It’s going to be great!
The other SUPER exciting news is that I am going to be opening up a studio space in town in Grinnell! Â I’ve been asked for many years why I haven’t had a space, and honestly, it’s just either been the wrong time for me personally, or the right place hasn’t been available. Things are finally coming together in a way that is perfect, and I couldn’t be more excited! Â And I’m pretty sure my husband is the most excited to have his basement back! Â It’s been quite the mess the last few weeks. Â Lol!
The new studio space will have a lot more room for just about everything, which will be wonderful! Â I’m looking forward to having more room for shooting during newborn and family sessions, and having a great space for added variety for senior shoots. There will be space for consultations and ordering appointments as well. It’s going to be AWESOME! Â The studio will be useable for both natural light portraits, and also studio light portraits, and having that versatility is something that will be incredibly beneficial for my clients. Â Previously, I was a bit limited with my studio light set up and could only photograph very small groups or solo sessions such as newborns or head shots, and even then, it was quite cramped. Â The new space has tons of natural light, which will be wonderful for busy toddlers or large groups! Â And there’s plenty of room for studio lighting on cloudy days or for a more consistent look during newborn sessions. Â And there’s finally a dedicated bathroom for my clients – wahoo!
Shifting into the new space will happen sometime in January once a few projects are completed on the space. I’lll have a grand opening and open house once everything is ready, and I can’t wait for you all to see it! Â I hope you all will love it as much as I do!
So….there’s a LOT going on!!! Â For now, I’m going to hold off on showing any photos since I want to respect the current tenants in the space, but as soon as things move forward, I will definitely share more! Â Â
But since no blog post is good without photos, here’s a recent favorite from a wedding that I absolutely love – a fun shot from Laura & Nathan’s engagement shoot!  They are getting married next week!!!!  And P.S.  apparently Nathan was the winner of the presidential fitness award in elementary school for the sit and reach!  We showed off his skills for this hilarious and yet entirely appropriate photo 🙂
