I’m Jen, a Des Moines wedding photographer and the owner of JWP! I help guide our business, photograph around 12-15 weddings annually, in addition to educating and coaching other photographers in their business. Based in Grinnell, I travel all over Iowa and the midwest. I’m often found in Iowa City, Pella, Ames, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, and venture to Chicago, Omaha, and Minneapolis often.
My goal for every couple is that your wedding photographs are a lasting heirloom that capture the honest emotions and joy of your day!

These are the words we use to describe our team and what we strive towards continuously. The same sentiments are often shared by couples in thank you notes we receive after many months of communication back and forth, and after documenting their day.
We care deeply about each couple we interact with, taking time to get to know you, which enables us to capture your wedding authentically, all the while preserving your day with passion and attention to detail.
As a team, we collectively have over 25 years of wedding experience. We’ve also been in your shoes. Having planned our own weddings, we have stressed about the same small details as you likely have. Over the years, we have photographed literally every kind of wedding imaginable. From large 400+ ballroom soirĂ©es to intimate COVID-era weddings, elopements in the mountains, church weddings, destination weddings – we’ve seen it all.
We find that the couples that are most at home with our team place a high value on our expertise and years of experience, because it enables them to fully immerse themselves in their wedding day without any worries. They can spend time connecting with their family and friends and having an INCREDIBLE time – we’ll take care of the rest.

I’m an extroverted-introvert
Give me deep meaningful conversations in a small-group setting and I am right at home. Crowds of strangers I have to go do the meet-and-greet with? I’d rather take photos of them 🙂
Travel has my heart
Architecture, delicious food, being in nature – I love it all. I’ve lived overseas in Barcelona twice (2016-2017, and 2023-summer 2024) and LOVE all things Europe.
nostalgic to the core
I’ve got piles of journals, love looking through old photos, and probably tell the same stories over and over again like my mother.
i was an art major in college
I spent all my time in the studio doing dark room film photography and abstract oil painting.
Working with Jennifer and her team was an absolute dream from the very start.
I wish we could relive the day all over again, but she truly captured it all so we can go through pictures over and over again!

Visit the JWP Studio
The Jennifer Weinman Photography studio is located int he heart of historic downtown Grinnell, in a unique industrial-style loft space. It features original wood floors, exposed brick walls, alongside modern furnishings and decor. We have a lounge area for our clients during sessions and consultations, as well as a private bathroom and changing area.
All of our in-person meetings are held at the studio or via virtual conference call. If you’d like to set up a time to stop by and say hello, please let us know ahead of time!

Studio sessions, consultations, and ordering sessions are by appointment only.
