I am STILL catching up on blogging all of my fall seniors, but it’s happening!  With wedding season around the corner and then 2017 seniors, I’ve got my work cut out for me!  This week, it’s Annika and her gorgeous session from the fall.  She came from Ankeny for her shoot, and I seriously ADORED photographing her.  She is hilariously funny, so genuine, and she has my favorite feature — brown hair and blue eyes.  I love that combo because it is so striking!

We then drove out to Krumm Nature Preserve.  This year, I did quite a few sessions our at Krumm.  Many people ask why I go out there – mostly, the light is beautiful, the surroundings are perfect, but also, there are fewer people and I find that this helps seniors relax a bit.  Anytime I can help a senior just relax and be themselves, I find the portraits are much more genuine and natural.

This red dress and the fall light was the perfect combo.

This senior portrait is probably one of my favorite photos from the entire year – I love the drama of her red dress and the expression in her eyes.  So beautiful!  I hope that Annika and her mom have this one framed 🙂
