She is by far one of the most grounded high school students I know. How do I know? I’ve known Christa for a few years, first through here parents, and then through a fun opportunity photographing her back when she was in 8th grade! (Oh my gosh, are those photos a BLAST from the past! Â I’m so glad I’ve grown as a photographer – Christa looks awesome, but my photo and editing skills? Â Yikes….) Â It’s hard to believe she’s graduating this year, because that feels like yesterday! If you go back to my previous post, I said some wonderful things about how generous, thoughtful, kind, and faithful Christa is. None of that has changes in the last 5 years – those things are all still true. She’s now a beautiful young lady with all of those qualities – gotta love her!
I was SO nervous about this shoot, because knowing Christa, I knew all the flourishes and finery and model-like experience were totally NOT her. And I know she loves to smile and goof off too! So it was incredibly important to me to really capture her personality – and I hope I achieved that. Thank you, Christa, for everything. For being my first Grinnell “model” back in the day, and for staying true to yourself. I hope more high school students end up like you!
We started off our session at the high school track. Christa is a seriously AMAZING runner, so we had to do it!
Quick outfit change, but can you guess where this was? Not far from the previous shot…
Next up, something a bit more refined, but still fun and colorful!
Love these!
That ring was a gift from her mom when she turned 16 – a promise ring. It’s SO beautiful!
And finally…
Have a WONDERFUL senior year, Christa!
