There are some stories that you hear and you just know that the bride and groom were meant to end up together and Caprice and Cody’s is just that. After attending the same high school, they didn’t actually connect until Cody was back for his 5 year reunion. After high school, he had moved to Minneapolis for a job and Caprice was still in town going to college. They coincidentally ran into each other at the homecoming football game at their high school and then again later on at the local bar and grill. Cody introduced himself to her while at the bar and they hit it off right away. The coincidences don’t even end there! They also were both planning on staying with their friends who happened to be married to each other!
One of the cutest parts of their story is that the morning after they met, Cody needed to leave their friends house early but didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye to Caprice. He gently woke her up so he could say goodbye in person and left his phone number in her car. Not long after that they officially started dating and dated long distance for a little over 2 years. Eventually Cody asked Caprice to move to Minnesota to live with him and it was on a weekend trip to Duluth that he asked her to marry him while touring a lighthouse!
As you’ll see below, Cody and Caprice planned a beautiful Iowa wedding that was equal parts modern and also elegant. It was such a perfect day! When we asked what their ideal wedding day is, Caprice said she wanted to create a day where it would feel like nowhere else that people would rather be, and it was clear that they did just that! Cody was asked the same question and he said all he wanted was to see Caprice’s face while she walked down the aisle and to get to hold her hand while they became husband and wife. It’s clear that the moment was just as special as he was hoping!
