Mariah is actually a senior at Grinnell High School, but her family spent lots of time at Lake Red Rock growing up, so when she asked if we could do her senior portraits in Pella, I was super excited! I have photographed events and sessions in the land of the Dutch before, but it had been a little while. I loved all the ideas she brought – the glitter, the chalk, the balloon…there was even more that she had in mind, but we decided to just stick with her favorites 🙂 I had such a wonderful time, Mariah! Thanks for choosing me for your senior portraits!
We started off at the lake…
After a bit of an accidental detour, we found a cool old railroad bridge that’s no longer in use that I had stumbled upon a few years ago – it worked perfectly for her photos!
I’ve seent he glitter shot on Pinterest, and was so glad to make it come to life for Mariah! We had a huge mess of glitter to clean up, but it was totally worth it!
We finished up her session super quickly in downtown Pella. The balloon shot is my absolute FAVORITE!
