William is a senior at Grinnell High School, and this session could not have been more eclectic!  When I first chatted with William’s mom, she mentioned wanting to have photos with a Tardis.  Tardis?  What on earth is that? was going the question I asked.  From there, I learned all about the television show Dr. Who and the Tardis.  Apparently I’m pretty out of the loop when it comes to sci-fi!  After hearing their ideas and doing some scoping around the web, I eventually heard that William found a life-sized Tardis standup on eBay!!  Gotta love their commitment to an awesome idea.  We had a ton of fun bring his dream to life!
We started off William’s session in downtown Grinnell.
Here it is – William and the Tardis!
One of my 101 in 1001 was to experiment more with off-camera flash (OCF) during my portrait shoots. Â Most of my shoots I do using available light, but I thought it would be fun to try some artsy OCF for William’s session. Â Plus, it was getting later into the evening, so we needed a little extra help with light anyways! Â These last three shots all used some type of OCF. Â I especially like the dramatic lighting for this tennis one!
A little Harry Potter action in addition to tennis and Tardis.  He’s a well-rounded kind of guy 🙂
William, thanks for the fun and creative session – I had a blast!
