When Cayla and I first met, it was not hard to see why Mason (or really anyone for that matter!) couldn’t help but love her. She has this amazingly bubbly, fun, and sweet personality. When you’re in the room with her, you know it will be good 🙂 I met Mason at their engagement session, and he was kind of an opposite to Cayla – so calm and laid back, but equally as fun. They really do balance each other out! As we got closer to their wedding day, I got to know Cayla a bit better and I just grew more and more excited for their day. I knew I would laugh and cry right alongside them – and we all did! Lol! It was such a perfect day 🙂 Thanks so much for choosing me to capture it – it was an honor!
We started off with her gorgeous bridal gown! It wasn’t quite white or ivory or even blush…it was mocha. Loved that!
I may be a tad obsessed with her ring – so stunning!
I loved their first look – it was short and sweet, but SO them!
The forecast for the day was BAD. They were predicting storms all day, plus it was hot and sticky. So when Cayla said she’d chance it and try for outdoor portraits, I was game….but wanted to work fast in case it started to pour on us. We lined up this shot….
And then literally within minutes….the rain came! Thankfully, it was just a brief sputter of drizzle, and it went away. We didn’t see anymore rain after this!
Cayla, you were gorgeous!
Many thanks to Shelly Sarver for the gorgeous florals
Love these ones of Cayla & Mason around town in Pella – I love shooting there!
Ceremony time! They were married at Second Christian Reformed Church. It’s funny – I have often have couples who seem self conscious about their home church and will say it’s not very pretty. I’ve heard this two times about Pella 2CRC, but I totally disagree! I think it’s a simple and lovely church that is easy to photograph in and can be personalized to suit any wedding – what could be better? But more importantly, it’s their home church and a place that is important to their family and their faith. That’s really what matters above all else!
It was hit or miss if all 4 flower girls would cooperate, but they did it!
Married!!! One of my favorite shots from the entire day 🙂 I love the look of joy on both their faces!
We headed over to Central College at the Maytag Center for their reception – they did an awesome job with the decor! That marquee!!!
I warned you I was a bit obsessed with her ring!
I can tell you from first hand experience that the Dutch letters we received as favors were quite delicious!
So many lovely heartfelt toasts!
Cayla’s dad had also teared up – so sweet!
We ran outside with the last bit of light and got a few sunset portraits – my favorite time of day! These two were so giggly! Lol! I loved it!
One of my favs.
They got a bit feisty with the cake!
Let’s dance!!! They were definitely ready!
The DJ had a bubble machine – best idea EVER!
Congrats you guys! I loved every minute of it!
