A Shop at the Marketplace

Something exciting starts today – my own shop!  For the past few weeks, I have been busy working away preparing for the opening of a shop space in the Marketplace on Main, a retail co-op in downtown Grinnell.  The Marketplace is a pretty unique venture started last year.  It consists of several smaller businesses occupying booths and kiosks within one larger space.  The variety of businesses is pretty stunning: homemade bagels, homemade natural soaps, woodworking, honey, custom mixed ice cream, infant and toddler clothing, home decor and antiques, artwork, yummy popcorn, make-your-own-pottery, scrapbooking, and now, photography!

I spent a few days painting the walls last week, and I love the color!  Turquoise is one of my favorites, and it also matches my logo!

The space is still a bit sparse while I wait for my Organic Bloom frames to arrive and use for hanging some of my portraits.  For now, you can see a few samples from weddings, engagements, and various portrait sessions.

You can pick up one of my portrait or wedding information brochures (yours to keep!) which share a little bit more about my style of photography and what to expect during a session.  Clients can reserve and pay for sessions at the Marketplace, even when I’m not there!  It’s pretty simple and straightforward, actually.  There’s a short information  form to fill out, you pay for your session, and I’ll give you a call to set up your session.  Easy as pie!

For now, I have print and gallery wrap samples, an accordion book sample, and of course, cards.  I should have a few sample albums and frames available soon!

My dream for this space is to have a sofa, chairs, a coffee table, and even a mantel!  It will feel just like home, to give you an idea of what your portraits and albums are like in your own home.  It will be a great space for meeting clients, but also for people to kick back and relax in the Marketplace.

undefined If you’re in town, please stop by some time soon.  I will be at the Marketplace on Thursdays from 10-3:30 if you have any questions about photography, and I will eventually be having special photo booth days, indoor sessions, and maybe some other fun stuff!
