When I first met Taylor and Bryce, it was on a freezing cold day in January for their engagement session. She is a striking blonde with elegant features, one of those driven personalities that is full of promise. He is dapper and tall, with a calm presence that you immediately puts you at ease. When you bring the two of them together, you immediately see how they compliment one another. The way Taylor described it to me was that Bryce has a presence about him that feels like home, and when you see them together — the way he adores her, the way that she becomes so peaceful, without a care in the world, it makes sense. Whenever they are with each other, it’s just…better. That freezing cold engagement session didn’t phase them, because they had each other. And even though they had planned for an outdoor wedding ceremony in March, when the forecast called for over a FOOT of snow, they weren’t stressed about it one bit. Because at the end of the day, all that mattered was that they were now husband and wife.
Their wedding was held at one of the most stunning venues in Cedar Rapids, Ashton Hill Farm. White interiors with gorgeous shiplap and draping, it’s like a photographer’s dream! I was grateful for this because we really didn’t have many outside options – it was quite snowy, and VERY windy outside for the majority of the day. We did step outside for a few portraits after their ceremony when the wind had died down a bit – those shivering portraits will be a memory for sure!
This wedding wouldn’t have happened without Taylor’s mom, Tammy, and all of her help and devotion. She put a lot of her time and energy into decorating and making this day a dream come true. Much love and appreciation to her – it looked amazing!
This amazing gown was EVERYTHING – I loved it!
Taylor found her wedding dress at the same bridal boutique that her mother found her bridal gown at many years ago.
Taylor was such a gorgeous bride! And I loved this moment when all her bridesmaids saw her dress for the first time!
And a daddy-daughter first look as well…
Meanwhile…Bryce put on the finishing touches.
We took a few moments for portraits of the bride and groom, and these are some of my favorites!
When you have a model wearing a stunning dress, you take some of your favorite bridal portraits ever!
The amazing decor at Ashton Hill was beautiful!
Donuts and cupcakes for dessert!!!
Since it was basically a blizzard outside, we did all of the group portraits inside. Grateful for this beautiful corner!
Sometimes there’s a few random moments throughout the day that I stumble upon. I loved this quick moment Taylor was chatting with her bridesmaids.
The bridal party tucked away for the ceremony, and as guests arrived, it was like a snow globe outside!
Married!
I had to keep this one! Â Lol!
We stepped out into the freshly fallen snow surrounding Ashton Hill, and created some of my most favorite wedding portraits.
Such a great idea for favors!
We ended the night with sunset dancing and celebration with friends and family. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs!
