When Bailey sent me her info for her senior portrait session and said she was a red head AND a dancer, I was soooooooooo excited! Â Personally, I think red hair is utterly gorgeous. Â And combine that with my all time favorite activity to photograph (dance!) and you’ve got the ultimate photoshoot! Â She came from Bondurant for her session, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that she chose me for her senior pics.
Bailey opted for my Lux photoshoot, which includes an additional hour of shooting time.  A lot of people ask me why they might want to select this session, and the main reason is that it gives you the opportunity for more variety.  Whether it be more outfits or locations or a unique concept idea you have, that extra time just gives you more!  For Bailey, I pitched the idea of doing some studio shots of her in her dance and cheer outfits.  We ended up spending a LOT more time on it than the extra hour, mostly because we were having so much fun!  I hope you enjoy checking out some of my favorite pictures from Bailey’s senior session!
After getting her hair and make up done at the salon, we headed out to a few urban locations around Grinnell.
It was actually incredibly cloudy and overcast this day. Â I was worried it was going to rain! Â But things turned out to be just perfect for us. Â These next 2 are some of my favs from her session.
I’m a huge fan of the floppy hat trend from this year 🙂
Like I said, we incorporated some studio light for her dance photos. Â Most of these were shot on location around town, and I LOVE them
And a few in the studio as well!
These were SO much fun to do, but always take a bit of finesse to get just right. Â If you want a little behind the scenes for how we made these flour dance shots, go here
Thanks for an amazingly fun and creative session, Bailey!
